Equality. It's about time.
Welcome to Fawcett East London
East London has always been a place of bold ideas, activism, and change—from the suffragettes who fought for the right to vote to today’s grassroots movements shaping a fairer future. At Fawcett East London (FEL), we’re proud to be part of this legacy. Founded in 2016, we’re a volunteer-driven group that connects feminists passionate about making a difference.
We are a space for learning, discussion, and action. Whether we’re tackling the big issues facing women and girls, hosting inspiring events, or building campaigns that drive real change—everything we do is about coming together and using our collective power.
One of our biggest achievements is founding the End Salary History campaign, fighting to close the gender pay gap. As a local chapter of the Fawcett Society, we collaborate nationally and within our community to push for a world where women and girls—of all backgrounds—are truly free and equal.
We’re always open to new faces, fresh ideas, and bold conversations. Whether you want to dive into activism, share your thoughts, or simply connect with like-minded people, we’d love to meet you. Our events include:
🌟 Monthly meetings with thought-provoking discussions and guest speakers
📚 Book club, film club, and theatre outings to explore feminist stories together
🥾 Hiking trips and social gatherings—because activism is better with friends!
